Overview
This training will allow the entrants, attendants and entry supervisor understand the safety requirements associated with confined space entry and work as this training will identify and discuss hazards that are usually and normally encountered in a confined space activity. This training will also outline the duties & responsibilities of all the entry team members for them to safely finish their work in a confined space.
Rationale:
Confined space is a dangerous and is considered one of the most hazardous work areas. Often, accidents associated with a confined space activity are fatal. In order for confined space workers to confidently finish their assignments and tasks safely, they must be trained on the specific hazards that they will encounter including all the controls that they need to know and implement during the course of their work.
Objective:
- Identify the accidents associated with confined space work
- Recognize and understand the hazards associated with confined spaces
- Implement safe and sound procedures when conducting confined space work (before, during and after)
- Know the correct way of conducting atmospheric testing
- Be familiar with emergency response procedure and equipment when an accident happens
Course Content:
- Introduction to Confined Space
- Hazard Identification
- Controlling of Hazardous Energy
- Atmospheric Testing
- Confined Space Ventilation
- Emergency Response Procedures and Equipment
